And it's reappeared, on YouTube, and seems to be in good hands.

Gruesome, Tim.

I'm old enough to remember the BBC's "Bucknell's House" from the mid-60s — a house near Ealing Common subjected to the latest DIY from presenter Barry Bucknell. After the series, it was thrown open to the public, and a school chum went to look. Kitchen cupboards were falling off the wall, and the whole thing was decidedly tacky . . . just good enough for the then low-def b&w television.

Downhill?

I think the magical TV glitter has washed off, it was otherwise this bad when it was on screen.

It also wasn't 'found in a field' as it appeared on the show, we've found some pretty strong evidence of that.

I did the cambelt on it yesterday. I don't think it's a bad car underneath. Quite original, and engine sounds quite sweet. Body is pretty rough and interior is a bit sun-bleached, but I think there's a good car underneath, once you get past all the 'work' that was done in the name of telly!
