^^bx> They're the ones push your front seats all the way forward and they slip under and fit a treat p.s. don't forget to push your seats back after doing this.

p.s. don't forget to push your seats back
Trust me, at 6'4" tall that is something I wont forget

I have to have the seat all the way back to get my knees under the steering wheel and even then the driving position isn't perfect  .

Back on topic, these are the people that I bought the genuine front bumper from last month and was very pleased with that transaction :D

I have 2 Phase 1 16Vs, a white F reg from 1988 and a Grey one from 1987.

The white one has only done 62K and is my weekend car as I have a company car.

The grey car is a long term project bought from a CCC member and was formally owned by 2 members on this forum.

Insurance wise, I paid just over £200 for the white one, fully comp and agreed £2k value. Not as cheap as you sadly but age may come into (31) and the fact that I declared the full stainless as a mod and that put a lot of insurers off, eventually insured through Adrian Flux.

I've only ever seen the foglight surrounds in black plastic, never heard of a metal one. Do you think that one is an aftermarket "pattern" replacement?

I've just realised that you are the owner of the white Phase 1 that sold last month on ebay :D

Before I type what I'm about to, please don't think that I'm starting a public autopsy of your car. If I'm wrong, I will take it all back:

Having checked the photos of your car when it was on ebay (I saved them as motivation to get the paintwork sorted on my white Phase 1 8) ) I noticed that your car has an aftermarket front bumper. The black insert it too thick and should be thinner like the one set into the rear bumper.

So if the bumper has been replaced at some point, then one of the original plastic foglight surrounds has been fitted into the new bumper and a metal one fitted to the other side.

If you buy a foglight, it doesn't come with the black plastic surround. I bought a genuine pair of foglights from the main dealer 3 years ago and they are seperate to these.

They are a handed pair, part numbers are 9563202580 & 9563202680: there are a set right next to me here on the desk at home but they are not for sale as they are being used on my new genuine front bumper when the bodywork gets sorted on the white phase 1 hopefully this winter :D

I'm sure if you asked, somebody else on here will have a pair available.

Nothing on the door mat when I got home today, not even a "whilst you were out" card.

Hoping for better things tomorrow :D

Solved the mystery of the front bumper think it is original the black trim has been put in place of the original if i pull it off u can see the recess for the thinner style trim as per the rear can you still source bumper or are these now extinct? Cheers Mark. 8)

Your bumper (or at least the thick black trim) is from a BX estate...

P.S. I also own a white Phase 1 16v
