Talking of Dyson, we like the "blade" alot, but really, what IS the point of the vacuum with the ball shit?
I mean, I've never struggled to use a vacuum cleaner that doesn't have a fucking ball, so whats the jist here?
Actual technical improvement, or just a gimmick?

Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!
Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

It is possible to make an electric supercharger.
But you would need a massive alternator and an equally massive electric motor for the fan to pump the air required.
Plus an intercooler too.
Given the losses in the motor/generator combination, perhaps 50%, it is best to use a simple mechanical linkage to the crank,or fit a turbo in the exhaust.
If Dyson made one, it would weigh 1000kg, be unbelievably noisy, and burn out when it sucks up your cat's furball.

It might be clever now, but it won't be in the morning!

+ a million. These waste-of-space things ahve been much talked about on the net. Complete waste of money, you'd need your bumps feeling to buy one of these.docchevron wrote:bah ha ha!
I wonder if anyone has actually been stupid enough to buy one of these?
You'd be better off getting one of those little hand fans and shoving that in the air filter box.
Vauxhall apologist.

I like my ball cleaner (!) a lot - it is easier to manoeuvre than a wheeled cleaner, and you can lean the body to allow cleaning under the front of sofas etc. It's quite intuitive, and helps lots in a small room with lots of stuff in it.docchevron wrote:Talking of Dyson, we like the "blade" alot, but really, what IS the point of the vacuum with the ball shit?

The opposite is my brother's Kirby - a big metal brute that weighs a ton. Yes it cleans well, and with the motorised drive it is very easy to push - in straight lines - cornering requires muscles like Schwarzennegger. Cleaning a hotel lobby with it would be great I think - cleaning a small council house living room however....

Just to add my 10 roubles, these things are completely useless, except for their bling factor (if shiny plastic appeals to you, that is...).
The best thing you can do for your engine breathing is to fit a decent air filter, and keep it clean. It's better if the filter sucks in cold air from outside the engine bay, but most originally fitted filter boxes do that anyway....
