Ruelshiem scrappie

Post by toddao »

Those that were on the Bxagon will recall the visit to this scrapyard which is located in Alsace between Mulhouse and Colmar. There weren't too many BXs at that time.
I have constant updates from Remy who guided us to the obscure and picturesque location as to what is there.
This time last week there were ten BXs there! They've now cleared five - crushed. Apparently there is very low interest now in BXs ( surprise!) and they survive largely unmolested for a month then get cubed.
The latest arrival is a Mk.1 16 of some description in good condition with blue interior which I'm hoping to see next week before it becomes a baked bean tin.
That's quite a rate at which they're disappearing. There's still loads in France but that's just one scrappie. It's almost like genocide now!

Here's the Bxagon gang in the car park of said scrappie

Ha ha – I’ll take that as a compliment I think!

I was on the hunt for a driveshaft, so that was my extension bar to get more leverage on the hub nut. I didn’t find one in the end – all I got was a windscreen washer motor but it was an enjoyable experience to wander around the yard.

Wow Todd
That bring's back some memories.
All good i must say what a fantastic scrap yard and how many BX's did we find i can't remember.
I remember Matt climbing over everything in search of his driveshaft.
Me finding a CB mike in the front seat of a bx.
And the owner saying ah yes you come from that little island.
I hate that little Island.
Then charging us next to nothing for quite a few items that we all had found.
Also to meet Rene what a character there is not much about the BX range that he doesn't Know.

Regards Phil / kermit
