Throwing in the towel!

Post by Kitch »

Just a quick one to say I\'m going to pretty much give up trying to use this forum due to fact I haven\'t been able to login through anything other than a proxy server for the last year or so, and they keep trying to plant trojans and other assorted shit on my computer (I\'m guessing it\'s not BXC as no one else has the problem  )

But thanks to all those who\'ve helped me over the years. I\'ll still be in touch with many through the power of phones and Facebook etc!

Cheers

Don't give up - get yourself an old Mac instead of (or as well as) a PC and wave goodbye to virus-related backslash misery...

You are one of the originals and you just can't leave us Rich.

Someone here can help sort out your problem.
Are you saying you cannot log on from home and that you have a fixed ip address that is being rejected or has been banned ?

Can you logon with your id from other locations ?

If so this can be easily remedied by the forum admin.
You could try to create a new account and see what happens then.
Then get rid of the malware on your pc that you have acquired.

Hang in dude.

it's proven to be not at all easy to sort, and is an issue with O2 servers.
If we find a solution to this, then I'll give you a nod mate!

When I saw the title of the post I thought you were selling your 16v Kitch. But fortunately not. At least you managed to log in to tell us you've had enough of backslashes! :D

I agree with the above posts - don't give up.

Here I am at a (rarely!) free PC at work.

I can log in using any other PC, just not my home one. I can even log in using my (O2) mobile phone.

It all went wrong way back when the forum went down for a few weeks or months whenever it was. When it came back I couldn't get back on. Really can't be dealing with the proxy thing...I've got loads of important shit on my PC I can't afford to lose.

I'm not saying I'm disappearing for good and look at me give me attention blah blah blah, but I won't be on frequently enough to be active, if that makes sense? Not until the issue is fixed, and as I understand it's not an easy fix!

Not selling the valver....don't think it'd be worth more than £300 in it's current condition!

Cheers
