MOT DAY

Post by Tim Leech »

Fail (again)

Handbrake adjustment (new pads being fitted as we speak) and the guy that did the MOT doesnt know about BX's.

Steering Rack Gaiter Split (last year it failed on the other side)

I have the pads and the gaiter anyway so its just the labour

All in all not bad for a 20 year old banger!
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Being done at work, the technicians working on at it as we speak, pads are done, just replacing the steering rack gaiter (yes its the near side )

The GT hasnt had an outing this year so if funds allow I will stick 6 months tax on her, failing that it will be the 16TRS.

Gaiter fitted and she PASSED!!!! :D Not bad really, an hours labour on a 20 year old Citroen for another years motoring!

Regarding the GT, Ive got a new drivers door to fit and it needs a good valet before it goes anywhere!

what did they fail the hand brake on, if it were just to much travle on the lever,

The tester isnt a BX man so wasnt aware of what was involved to adjust it up, the front pads were quite low though so when the new ones were fitted it solved the problem.

Driving the car back to its garage yesterday showed up how buggered the front struts are though so thats on the list of "wants" as it really does ride poorly, even compared to the VW I use!
