As others have said, it's a great shame about the damage to your BX, but at least you and your wife are (relatively) ok. It sounds like the motorcyclist is very lucky, as that could have been much worse. I've never been a biker, but even as a (relatively fast & brave) cyclist, there's no way I'd have tried an overtake there...

My first driving instructor imparted the following on my first lesson, which I've never forgotten: "Don't drink and drive, and assume everyone else does. If you assume that they might be in the wrong place, forget to signal, forget to look etc, then you'll never have an accident involving someone else."

True enough, I never have. I've scraped a bumper a time or two in the early days, but never anything more than a gentle kiss, and with only one exception in Turin, paint only.

Hopefully the insurance will write it off for a decent sum, and then allow you to buy it back for a song. :)

That looks mendable, sure someone has a rear door somewhere? I have one but its the wrong colour and is a bit frilly, yours of course if you want it.

Regarding the sill, I imagine a slide hammer would get most of that out. If you need any help with the value of the car Malcolm just let me know and Im sure we can wave a big CCC letter at them.

Joking apart if the insurance man hasnt come and inspected the car yet, get it washed and polished etc to try and make a good impression...

sill would be easy to pull out, but yeah, the doors scrap. Unless you have a decent skin kicking about you could weld on?

Is that 2 bottles of cider by the bike?
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

That is the piece of evidence that is hard to argue with.

in the UK i think you have to warn people they are being videoed otherwise it wont/cant be used in a court of law as evidence,

as the types that are breaking the law in the first place are prtected ( in the UK at least )

bloody civil rights and all that  :?

Same rules here however how many times have you seen clips on youtube or better still on TV programmes exposing poor driving? Evidence probaly be thrown out of court but thats only if it goes to court and someone feels like challenging it ;)

Like I said if you happen to not like what your told the global community will give you an opinion later :)

They should probably introduce a new campaign to run alongside the 'Think Bike' one.

They could call it 'Bikers........think!'

Glad you're ok. Car looks easily fixable, just fight for a decent payout and don't give the theiving bastards too much leverage.
