seat belt anchorages

Post by Phil Brook »

Anybody know where I can obtain new anchorages for the front seat belts. The current ones sometimes won't let go requiring undignified exits!

Hi Phil,
I am not sure if they are available new, but try this first:

Next time you are in the garage inflating / checking your tyres pressures, giive the seat belt sockets a generous blast of compresed air
.
Then apply a short squirt of WD** or similar, and see if that does the trick...Works for me...

I'm sure there's plenty of people here with spares, although there are 2 different types on Mk2 cars..
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

do not use that orible W stuff as it does NOT do what is says on the can, i belive it is deliberately designed to cause you to use more on most applications it states on the can,

the usual is spray it on your ignition HT leads to help start the car, trouble is it attracts dirt and dust which in turn soaks up moisture, so causing what you were using it for in the first place,

if you have to use a shaky can use the 3in1 one,
