I reckon if I ran mine from first flicker to empty it might do 80 miles. Most I've ever squeezed in it when filling after really pushing my luck was about 65 litres, so not too much margin for error there!
I normally reckon on getting a good 600 miles from a tank in the TZD in mixed use, rising to up to 700 on long steady trips (when the car's usually fully loaded).

Today I did over 300 miles in the car and it performed well.
However I have decided that its not really suitable for this sort of journey too often as its a bit slow and the drivers seat is a bit uncomfortable.
Fuel gauge is just above "R" and I've done 450 miles so far on this tank.

My search for a replacement drivers seat isn't going well, however I may have found a Pug 405 seat - I read somewhere that these are a direct fit, is this true?

Not sure about the 405 Seat, there must be a set of grey seats knocking about somewhere! All BX seats are interchangeable but most later cars had black interior.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Best try a turbo then... :D Most of my mileage is long round trips between France and UK (next one will be about 1200 miles over four/five days) and although it's nice to have the extra acceleration of the turbo, a healthy n/a diesel will still spin along quite happily at or above the motorway limit.

Howdy. Glad you made it over here. ;)

My BXs have the smaller tank and 400 miles is about all their good for (I don't like running them too low).

Oddly, both my wife and myself have started to find the seats in both BXs uncomfortable. They do have far too much shoulder-level support and not enough lower down. You could try and track down some GTi seats. Think they had lumbar adjustment?

The slowness is something you get used to - or you buy something else. I find it a real bind around Shrewsbury, which has lots of NSL dual carriageway and lots of roundabouts to take away all of your momentum. Any other time, it's fine. I'm happy to sit at an indictated 75-80mph on the motorway and while it's a bit buzzy at those speeds, it still sips fuel.

After observing "The Red Baron" on the challenge, I can attest that a n/a diesel, in the right hands, isn't that slow!

The n/a is no rocket, but if it feels lethargic then there might be something wrong? It will rev into the red quite easily & keeps up with modern traffic, don't rely on any torque by being in a high gear, i normally have to drive it like a petrol motor to extract any performance, but if you change your driving style by looking ahead you can safely get the car upto speed & overtake by having a slightly longer run up & you'll soon forget about having loads of performance immediately, ask 2cv drivers. Hope that made sense?

Cheers, I usually join a car specific forum for each of my sheds, and this one came recommended

I'm not fussed on colour (or lumbar support) I just want a seat that doesn't have a lump of metal pressing against my back ..... I'll prob get the 405 seat to try it.

I think the engine is fine, I was pleasantly surprised at how not bad it was to start with, and it keeps up fine on the motorway etc. I've no idea about the red line, as I have non-working analog clock where the rev counter should be :( It's just the lack of acceleration from the n/a diesel I'm not keen on. The car's quite good on A-roads and places where I don't need to slow down much, but as said overtaking takes more care and a bit more planning. I do go down to Milton Keynes a bit, and I'd be pulling (whats left of my) hair out after a few roundabouts.
For now the car will be my back-up daily and tat hauler, I have a boring vw tdi for daily use, but I'll be keeping an eye out for a turbo dizzler bx as I do quite like the car.
