TXD similer spec

Post by kiwi »

Having some issues with local insurance companies that do not recognise my 19TXD import on their system.

What they have said is to compare it to a similer model however I have no idea of which Diesel veriant it would be close to. Finding the right one is important for the agreed value to be fair and of course the premium.

Probably the TGD. The TuRD is way below and the TZD above.
I have zero patience for your tedium.

I'd say TZD, the only difference is the electric mirror, the rear electric windows & the pointless display which shows whether a door is open or not & the remote central locking plip system & i think thats about it. TGD is basic with the crap cloth coloured seats & even less leccy bits, everything is manual.

TGD, front leccy windows and sunroof, manual mirrors and no remote locks. I think the only difference is the seats.

Yup, different interior, chrome bumper inserts and grille, rear spoiler, different wheel trims and body coloured bumpers.

If they can find a TGD Meteor thats pretty much identical.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

I will be fair and say not so much stupidity but once again a reliance on "Thats what are database says" computer system that is always right technology. The online qouting sytem that gives you a discount is where the problem is. Find a similer model and they just can update the details the problem is calculating the agreed value.

Checking with a guru the TXD was never sold on the New Zealand Market same as the BX14 range. The only ones in the country are pre used UK imports that basically stopped coming in in 2001 when the Kiwi goverment introduced frontal impact standards which ended the importing of the BX for no longer compliance.

But insurance stupidity is rife in New Zealand ever since the Earthquakes struck Christchurch! nearly 3 years on people are still waiting for damage payouts!
