Modified mk1

Post by Gary »

After having a clear out indoors I found an old Citroen magazine dated June 1985,
In which there is this small article about some football player ( who i would not know as i don't follow the sport) and his modified mk 1.

I have that very magazine! I've never heard of Graham Rix either: I assume 'Arsenal' are some kind of football team?

According to the DVLA it was a 1.6 petrol and the date of liability was 1 August 1995.

For context, the Arsenal FC squad for 1984/85 consisted of a few names even the most football-averse might recognise! Interesting to note that not a single member of the squad came from overseas (unless you count Ireland)!

Viv Anderson
Gary Campbell
Tommy Caton
Colin Hill

That explains everything. The fumes alone would have rendered you senseless for at least a decade.

Ah, them were t't days! I remember when you could watch a game of footy on the telly for free! Of course the balls were leather and the team strips were in (50) shades of grey. But we were happy, even though we were poor. Well, I say poor..., we were poor compared to Graham Rix, with his pimped up 1.6 BX. Aye, we used to dream of owning a BX like Graham, posing down Upper Street with that fancy suspension and sharp lines. And when we woke up all hot and sweaty, like, our mum and our dad used to beat us to death with an Austin A40 wheelbrace for even daring to consider desiring some fancy French car that went up and down, but even after they thought we'd learned our lesson and dragged us into A&E by our hair, we'd still beg the doctor to use LHM instead of O+ for the blood transfusion.

But we're all right now...

^ I'll have what he's 'avin. :) Actually, I have heard of some footballers. Here's the list of footballers I've heard of:

Bobby Moore
Bobby Charlton
Jackie Charlton
Charlton Athletic
Billy Bremner
Knobby Stiles
Roy of the Rovers
Pele
Madonna

I try not to think about football too much. It gives me horrible flashbacks - even now I sometimes wake up screaming with the words 'Ahh do we have to have him Sir?' and ''andley yoo fat bastard' echoing round in my head. :)
