Post by rutter123 »

Just doin a trawl for a timing belt kit for my t/d, found this kit by ATP inc belt, water pump, tensioner and idler pulley for under £50 has anyone had ant dealings with these? Seems cheap half the price of any others, poss stock clearance or cheap poor quality parts?

Seems good value although I have been told by a few people only to use dayco belts.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Not heard of ATP, but there's every chance it's a Dayco/Gates kit wrapped up in a shite box and sold cheaper. You won't know till you have it in front of you though, sadly.

Just heard back from this supplier, they assure me that this kit is of OEM quality but did not mention which particular manufacturer.

'ATP' is normally a timing belt profile not a brand , it is a twin tooth profile belt which is manufactured by most timing belt manufacturers?

"ATP high capacity profile
Further increased performance, noise reduction and extension
of the belts useful life led to the development of the ATP
timing belt. The basic concept of the ATP profile provides
the division of the trapezoidal tooth into two individual
and load bearing teeth. Performance increase up to 60 %,
running noise reduced by up to 10 db(A) and an increased
longevity by:
• Tooth surface area increased by 70 %
• Uniform load/tension distribution
• Improved power dispersion
• Reduced polygon effect
• Small construction width"
