I`m back!

Post by cavmad » Sun Jul 31, 2005 1:24 am

6 hour journey today back from (not so) sunny Great Yarmouth. `Spotted` about six BX`s in total including a tidy white estate on the M6 on the way down who flashed his/her lights at me.Hats off if that was you, it kept me entertained!
On a very positive note the car performed faultlessly with the exception of the return of the grumbling suspension. However considering we covered about 750 miles plus in a week (with 300 miles each way of virtually non-stop motoring) I was extremely happy with general performance (or rather lack of it!) and mpg.
I have complete and utter confidence in my BX for both long and short journeys and embarassed many a newer car over the week.
Been for a few pints tonight hence my posting time but nice to be back on the forum.
Good evening from a very tired but happy Cavmad!

But I bet it was cheap! Someone down here advertised a late one with full service history and 12 months MOT for £115 ONO and was still struggling to sell it.....

Reminds me of many years ago when they were new. We went to the beack - probably by Jaguar and while we were getting assembled we spot this guy with a brand new EFI Maestro - and he's fiddling around with it. We assume he's setting some form of anti-theft device, then watch as he puts one of those immobilisers on the steering wheel, then gets out and gets his own clamp from the boot and carefully fits it to the front wheel!

Even then the things had no cred and I'm sure he would have found it there if he'd left it unlocked with the key in it!

I wish I'd had another padlock for his clamp!

It was better than cheap, it was free. The bloke who I sold it to had it 3 years and loved it. I have to say my little Maestro van is a cracker-I have to get it back on the road soon!

Mr B - your driving your BX to Spain??

Impressive!

Have you worked out your route, and how many days are you planning to take?

Roads in Spain are great, probably even better than France.

Cheers

Dan
