Major Forum Upgrade *Please Read*

Post by CitroXim »

Hot on the heels of a major upgrade of the FCF to phpBB Version 3.1 I now plan to upgrade this forum...

Version 3.1 is a big and major upgrade that brings in many new features.

Rather than me telling you all about it, have a look and play with the Relese Candidate I've built on the Test/Development server here:

http://www.xmv6.co.uk:8808/forum/index.php

You will be able to log in with your normal account details...

Grateful for all thoughts, comments and criticisms... I'd like to get it right before I pull the plug on this one and replace it with the brand new sparkly one and you the users need to be 100% happy with it...

Once happy, the upgrade will take place on a Wednesday and the forum will be unavailable for the best part of the day.. The upgrade is that big!

Thanks all!
Jim

That's one of the big enhancements, the display is adaptive and adjusts to suit the device it is displayed on. It makes Tapatalk virtually redundant although Tapatalk will be installed for those who want it.

Other enhancements to see is the new notification area in the top right corner where you can see PMs and notifications of topic replies and so on..

If you display a list of topics in a forum and hover over the topic title you'll see a preview of tat topic showing the fist few lines of the first and last posts.

I'm also working on a site-wide Google search. the bare bones are in there but not yet fully configured...

Lots of new tools for the admins and mods too with much improved spambot resistance..
