Paint code for solid steel wheels

Post by Kitch »

Hi all, anyone know the paint code for the early light grey solid steel wheels? RAL9006 is pretty close, but not bang on. Need to order some paint for the TRS' wheels once I've got them prepped.

Cheers

If you have access to a Pantone book (graphics colours) check that. Also check AFNOR standard which is the French equivalent of BS for paint. I'd guess it is a standard AFNOR grey, and some of the better paint suppliers should be able to mix it.

If you get really stuck just take the wheel to a good local paint supply guy and your best colour match ie the RAL one. Then get him to tweak it slightly. I've done this before to mix corporate colours for foreign companies such as Olympus grey. You only need the most minute colour tweak to alter it usually. Easier to do the larger the quantity ie 1/2 ltr up. Possible to do with 1/4 ltr though just a littlle more delicate. The best paint guys correctly read what you need to add ie red/yellow/blue and also the shade ie how white/black.
