Hello from newbie

Post by lee »

Hi Guys,
Just wanted to say hi from a newbie. I have just purchased a 1985 BX 1.9 GT that has been stored in a barn in Brisbane Australia for many years.
Incredibly, it started almost straight away!
Any contacts on getting parts (mostly cosmetic) would be great. I have family in the UK, so they could post. Things like door mirrors and rear lights could do with replacing. Finding parts in Oz is almost impossible (didn't think of that before I bought it).
I had a BX in the 90's and loved it. Bought this one for my son, to restore together and let him use it when he's old enough. He laughed and said it was ugly and smelly.
I was looking to see If I can post pics on here. If you can, can somebody let me know how, then I can show you all what I got for $200.
Cheers

Lee

Hi lee

I also own a bx GT mk1, door mirrors are mk1 specific and very rare indeed! but rear lamps are the same as early mk2.

Welcome aboard.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Thanks Tim, I was looking at mkII mirrors and wondering it they were compatable. I might have a look at repairing but at some point, somebody has driven a screw right through it to hold it together!!

Welcome!
To post pics, you'll need to use a photo-hosting site such as Photobucket, then post the [img]photoname[img] link here. Should then display in the post.

You can fit Mk2 Mirrors I am told but don't could leave a bit of a void where the rubber cover goes on the inside of the door.
