BX vans

Post by Citroen Guru »

Very impressed with this sight. I,m a long term Citroen
lover and have 5 at the moment.
87 2CV
78 AK400 van
72 DS Super
96 XM

94 BX 19td van. How rare are the vans? I bought 2 about 18 months ago and recently sold a 94 green one as leaks were appearing faster than I could fix them. I kept a 94 red one in much better condition. Both have steel bonnets and weight stickers on the OSF wheel arch.
I used to see a white one being used until 2 years ago.
Has anybody else got one?

Hello Citroen guru, welcome to the club!! Nice to have a DS owner in our midst.

As far as Im aware the vans are quite rare, at least over here.

Hello from me too and welcome along! Jayboy has got van, the only one I`ve ever seen `in the flesh` too. I believe they are mega rare in Britain. Where abouts are you by the way?

Hi Guru!

Yes, I too have a van, also a 19TD from '94. From what I have heard it's possible that only 70 or so vans were produced for the Irish market, but from Citroen literature I have I believe that they were also sold in Norway?!?

I bought mine from Eric Brough who also owns a GS Service in right hand drive - that makes a BX van look common!

Do you have any pics? I want a white one!

You can see mine if you go in to General Chat and look under 2CV Restoration Pictures posted by Ian Fearn.

Mine is an Irish one. the local Citroen dealer sold about 15 of them. I've also got a RHD AK 400 van that was purchased by the Dublin police it 1976- they bought 2 of them. Presumably not for pursuit work.
