Citroen Ax question

Post by Bxaholic »

Could someone here tell me roughly the value of an 1994 Ax 1.5 diesel with 12 month mot in very good condition {85,000 miles} a car that's been garaged for the last five years or so.

Have you tried Parkers on line guide? www.parkers.co.uk that will give a rough guide, also look at what similar cars are going for on www.autotrader.co.uk

Parkers only give a 1997 P plate diesel - they list this as £640 for private good condition - so use that as a basis for yours.

No offence Marty but Parker`s is sh*te. You may as well think of a number, divide it by the amount of cats you've owned and times by the number of stones on your neighbour`s drive.

Mr Holic, I`d suggest £350-£400 with some fluctuation either way.

I would suggest I might be interested in it, if it were £350 or so. PM me!

If the HG is strong and theres no rust I reckon you'd see £500 for that in the trader.

If it is indeed splendid then its well worth the money mate. Most are pretty dodgey these days, and good ones can still hit 60mpg. I could probably get to Wales on just over a fiver in one if I drove at 56mph the whole way

Needs to be rot free on the boot floor in the corners, and around the windscreen edges. Check for dents under the fuel cap, they usally cause rust due to the underseal being stretched.

Wishbone bushes and ARB bushes usually knock and make sure you pop it on full lock either side and accelarate hard to listen for any knocking from the CV joints. AX's (GT and GTi aside) have 2CV like suspension travel up front and it usually cains the joints every 50k miles.

Gets 5 extra points if its an Elation model....they're quite plush

Thanks all for info supplied, i'll keep you posted as to what will happen with it, its my father in law's car and he's thinking of selling it as he's had a Nissan Terrano. Cant understand whats he's doing really, I mean going from a car that does 60mpg to a toy that does 25mpg if that.

Well, keep me posted BXaholic. I'm definitely in the market for something in the next month - was thinking 106 diesel but an AX would do just as well.

Apparently even though its the same engine in both cars, the AX is much more lively to drive (something to do with the gearing & lighter weight perhaps).

The 106 was quite heavy - heavier than a 205 despite being smaller. The 1.5D is a good lump though, my mum has a 106D and it feels surprisingly pokey...

Is this size of AX going to be 5 speed by the way? And 3 or 4 stud?
