Wheelbolts - what's the difference?

Post by mountainmanUK »

What, precisely, is the difference between standard steel wheel bolts, compared to those fitted to 16v Alloys?

Would it be possible to use standards, for a short period only, or would the alloys be damaged...or maybe they wouldn't even fit in the first place?!!

Many here have "the Knowledge"! I beg to learn a little of it!

Cheers

Chances are they wouldn't be long enough. Alloy bolts are spigot mounted, they are flat flanged with a washer.

I have a feeling the bolts used with the standard 16v alloys are the same as the 205 1.9 alloys, the 1.6 ones (I have heard) need a shorter bolt... Vanny might know.
Good heavens! My signature's been moderated...
