Diesel injectors

Post by sleepy0905 »

I changed my injectors yesterday mine had done 186500 miles, so I had another set that had only done 106000 miles wow what a difference tickover is a lot more steady and the engine as a whole seems to run alot smoother, my old ones were well worn you could see the wear on them, so i stripped them down and was horrified you can see and feel the wear on the needle there is a definate lip. :)

Time to do mine I think. Is it expensive/complicated?

Worth ringing round diesel specialists for quotes. When mine were done the bill was less than I could have purchased the injectors for (£100 5 years ago)

the cost for me was a few pence in diesel to the breakers the replacement injectors were put in pocket and i paid for a titchy item, and the job was very easy its just like changing spark plugs just they are a bit tighter 98Flbs :)

But are these "Diesel REDEX fuel system cleaners" really worth it - or do they simply negate the amount you saved buying supermarket diesel? How will we ever know?
