Drive it day 2009

Post by Tecar »

This event has now been postponed

Here's an option for drive it day, that Darrin (WLS group of CCC) has organised if anyone is interested (PM me for contact details):
West London and Surrey Group of CCC wrote:April 26th
Drive It Day.
Drive It Day® is the historic vehicle movement's annual showcase event. It
happens each year on the Sunday nearest 23 April, the anniversary of the
start of the 1,000 miles trial of 1900.
...
I have plotted a route around Surrey for us to drive, starting and
finishing at the Rose and Crown, Thorpe Green (TW20 8QL - where we had our
meeting on Feb 1st). The idea is to meet from 10am for a 10.30am departure.
You will be given a set of simple directions (we do not want anyone getting lost)
with some questions, the answers of which are to be found along the route.
The drive should take approximately 2 1/4 hours ending back where we started for lunch and prize giving,
yes prize giving!
You will need to bring something to write with, a clipboard would also be handy as would at
least one passenger who can read out the directions and help look for
answers to the questions. Entry is £1.00 per car to cover prizes and I will
need to know numbers attending beforehand so I can reserve tables for us at
the pub. Should be a fun day out for all the family.

Well I know 'The Rose & Crown' Thorpe Green. I used to work at Thorpe Park when I was a teenager and that was the after work watering hole! :D

Please note that
the event will not be taking place on drive it day,
