Any meetings?

Post by BX nut »

Hi. Having owned or driven Bx's for the last 15yrs, but only joined here in the last few days, I was wondering if anyone knows of any meetings in the south west or midlands areas for BX mad people?
It's a real shame i didn't know about the Hexagon earlier as it sounds amazing.
Thanks in advance

Hello BXnut

Theres the CXM rally the week after next which may attract a few BXers, plus Chris Salter (ren16tx) is trying to arrange a BX get together later this year.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Hi BXnut
You are very welcome.
You could still do the Hexagon if you wanted, or you could do the mini-version like I am doing - see the BXagon sticky, and contact Phil for further details.

Actually, the planning was the time-consuming bit. But I have learned that on the whole it is too much to ask most potential participants to take so much time out (and spend as much) as this requires. However, as the option exists to all or part/sections of the run, I have got a few people taking part:

There are definitely five, possibly six teams doing the whole BXagon Challenge. There are a further six or seven doing sections of the course (for instance Vannes to Calais, or Pontarlier to Digne-les-Bains etc.). In addition we have people raising sponsorship who can't actually do the event (which is kind).

SO... what next?
It will be under the umbrella of the CCC. Open to all classic Citroen owners. It is highly unlikely to be as ambitious as this 2,600 mile run and in all probability will be something like a road trip taking in Citroen-related places; Paris, Rennes etc. or a trip to http://www.collection-schlumpf.com/en/schlumpf for example...

And it would take place over a long weekend. There might be a treasure hunt aspect...

But let's see how we can make the BXagon as fruitful and worthwhile as possible in the meantime. It's only a few weeks away. :D
