Will this event also be happening in 2013? The dates here are smack bang in the middle of my final year uni exams...

Never say never, but it is highly unlikely. If anything does happen it won't be me organising it. I do believe that an 'event' in the UK might be worth considering but that'd be up to another member to sort.

I might consider another event for 2014 but it's likely to be more modest than the BXagon and Challenge unless there is real practical support for something equally bold.

If, as it now seems, I won't be able to take part myself, rest assured sticker packs will still be made up and distributed in time and I will continue to supply information etc. to those taking part.

It'll be a well worthwhile event so don't have doubts yourselves :)!

Well, it's not that I won't try my hardest to make it - one way or another (ie as a co-driver on another participant's car) - but projects I was depending upon are being rescheduled... The wrong side of the event... HOWEVER... I may be OK... Watch this space... ;)

Not sure I agree Tim. Don't wish to slight Phil, but if the organising has been done and the route planned, he really doesn't need to be there (though obviously it would be better if he were!). This is a series of days driving to different designated places in France. If anything like the BXagon, people will do it in their own time/pace and perhaps even routes. We generally only met up with folk of an evening, where we could all swap tales about what we'd been up to. We really don't need a chaperone if, for personal reasons, Phil can't make it.

..that_ If I were in Phil's position, after putting in the work to organise it I would be gutted if I couldn't make it. But it would be even worse if the event started to fall apart.

I agree with Mat, It would be a great shame if the person who had put all the work into arranging the event was unable to participate in it.

I am doing the trip even if I have to steal a Citroen, and complete the event in the style of the Blues Brothers with 100 police cars following me around.
la BX 16 soupapes: sachez apprecier avec moderation.

It might be clever now, but it won't be in the morning!

Absolutely, Ian, Mat. And I also appreciate Tim's point.

In the words of Ian McShane in Sexy Beast... "Where there's a will, there's a way. And there is a f*cking way..."

Maybe I was a little hasty, I just would be very disappointed if Phil couldnt make it, so much so I have offered him a seat in my 19TZD if required.

There's a spare seat here too, if we can work out the way back - I'm not heading straight back myself but could divert to Calais on the way to Belgium to drop a passenger at the ferry.

I might have cracked it, but there's still a way to go. But Team Philibusters - in one form or another - will be represented.
