2011 Citroen Car Club National Rally (NEW VENUE)

Post by Tim Leech »

£7 PER CAR on the gate for NON Members, £5 for CCC Members

You only pay once for the whole weekend.

£12 per camping pitch per night.

No electric hook up though sorry.

NO BBQ'S, Camping stoves are ok.

Week ending 16th/17th July 2011

Different venue from 2010 as the say variety is the spice of life.

Camping will be on site aswell as a bar :D, food, car boot sale (sunday) plus many other attractions.

Proposed site is http://www.skylarkshowground.co.uk/#

All being well it should be a great weekend.

Lots OF BX'ers please! :D

Hmmm, a bar on site, and you expect BX'ers to show the rest of the fraternity how to behave? Its going to be messy!!

Why the move from Gaydon? I thought it was an excellent venue, certainly better than Huntingdon. Though this sky lark show ground looks like its geared up for an interesting weekend.

Free camping sounds good, but i thought the price was pretty good given that its normally £9 to get into the Heritage.

ps Will the 'social tent' return this year? Thats the only thing i felt was missing based on previous years.

Thing is Vanny it was £9 each, which if you have 2 adults, kids etc and dined on site it got expensive, plus once you've seen the Museum you need a few years break as it hardly changes, personally I though the lay out wasn't ideal and looked like a big car park.

I'm quite looking forward to it and it should be a good laugh.

(I'm even buying a tent specially)

Hi Tim, are these dates definitive as i will need to book annual leave[weekend working does have occasional advantages] what kind of £'s are we talking about as i didn't have my bx last year so missed out on Gaydon. Cheers Mark.

Hi Mark

The dates are pretty much agreed on as is the venue unless something drastic happens.

In previous years at wood green its been £5 per car per day on the gate for members and £7 for non, I will try and make it as cheap as possible.

Honestly. I move away from the East and I've failed to drag the Citroen meets with me! 2CVGB Registers' Day is a couple of weeks before this (just down the road - but not the same venue now at least!) - not sure I can justify two trips to the east (and I usually get roped in to help with the 2CV one).

I rather liked Gaydon aswell..
And the 16th is Mothers birthday, and it's a long trek for one day..hmm.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Venue looks good Tim :-)

Is there the prospect of pitching on Friday the 15th do you think ?

I bought a copy of Classic Car Weekly last week because it had a front page article about Gaydon - promising to support clubs by keeping prices reasonable - makes me wonder if they put their prices up and found it unsustainable.
