Calling all CCC Members (plus non members!)

Post by Ian_Fearn »

I got a phone call yesterday from the Barry Annells who is organising the Citroen Car Club National Rally in Huntingdon.

The rally is from the 14th-16th July.

I've been asked to put a stand together for the BX and i'm looking for either 3 or 4 interesting cars to go on it.

Would anybody be interested in displaying their car or maybe even producing something visual for the stand?

Let me know, Ian.

Note: There's a big Citroen Banner on eBay at the moment that someone could go for (not me, I'm afraid!) It doesn't say BX on it though

Depending upon a couple of factors I might be able to come along and bring my BX with me (it should have a brand new MOT on it by then!). I'll let you know. I guess I need to rejoin the CCC!

Never fear, Cavmad`s here. In a fit of world cup excitement and boredom at work I`ve bid on it!

i even have standard rims with michelin tyres now too! So long as i dont start the engine they may even think that its a petrol ;)

I`m not either Tim and so far I`ve attended naff all shows and get togethers with the good people from this forum. This week`s excuse is that I`m off to the races (in the posh stand) with a few mates and our partners when this particular meeting is on and will be saving some spends for our next holiday.
Can`t someone suggest a BX club meeting in west Cheshire one fine day :?:

OK, for arguaments sake what would be the ideal 4 car line up?

BX 4x4
BX diesel
Any BX mk1
BX estate (petrol or diesel)

I'd have thought that covers the range fairly well.

It would seem a shame to miss out on Kitch's lovely red 16v so i'd quite happily sacrifice the 4x4 slot for the 16v.

By the way, the line up will only take place on the Sunday.

1) Silver 16V with new cambelt fitted.
2) TZD with 1.9TD engine conversion.
3) TXD estate with 1.9 n/a diesel engine.
4) TBA
5) TBA

I can bring the 16v if Kitch wants to take his 19GT? the 16TRS wont be roadworthy by then and to be fair its not good enough to display!

Its not been decided yet, but I think that Kitch is taking the 16v, his Dad maybe driving the GT and I may take the Activa if its fixed, if not, the estate shall make a day of it.

Truth be told, it seems 3-4 BXs seems too few. There've got to be at least 6 or 7 candidates... 8)
