ErikBM - TZD - new member - new car

Post by Erikbm » Sun May 03, 2009 1:23 am

Hi All,
I am a new member, from OZ. Although we have our own great website in aussiefrogs, there aren't many BXs on there and certainly very few of the one that I have just bought from Trevor Lampre.

It has done 260,000 km and is in very good condition. The wheels are off a 16v. The paint is nice, but faded on the spoiler (our sun does that) and Trevor only got half way through installing the air-con before his back gave out.

The ride is lovely and soft and the engine is running nicely. It only cried a few green tears on Trevor's behalf recently, but I fixed them yesterday (low pressure return - old repair had split again).

The other oil stains on the paving (now added to by the BX) are from a Discovery, a Peugeot Mi16 (sold to buy the BX) and a Sirion.

Regards, ErikBM - Adelaide, South Australia
Current Citroens:
BX TZD (rare private import), BX 19TZI (auto works in reverese but not forwards), AX GTI (waiting for a carby for it to bypass the problem EFI system), CX 2400 (works but waiting for me to put the leather interior in), Mercedes 300D (recently stolen and recovered but with every bit of glass smashed), Mercedes 450 SEL (very close to having it running again), plus a few others...

Welcome to the Club! Nice combination of model, colour and of course, Speedlines. Will you be looking to complete the a/c installation? 8)

Hello Erik and welcome! Your BX is looking good. Who actually imported it as I know that any form of diesel was rare in Oz? I should also think that A/C is quite necessary with your climate - especially if you get another summer like the recent one!

Thanks for the welcome. I will indeed be completing the air-con, although it will probably wait a few months before the urgency spurs me into action, as winter is now approaching here.

I don't know for sure, but I think it might be Brian Ross who did the importing. I believe it was around 97, but Trevor would know more, as I actually haven't met him.

Regards, Erik
