Well i cant believe it! Sat for 4 years and apart from a mad panic at about 11.30 pm last night as i backed up to the garage doors and realised there were no brake lights. It turned out to be a dodgy connection on the n/s/r lamp and it sailed the MOT this afternoon without any advisories.
So thats another one back on the road.
Next project?
Richard.

I couldnt get the genuine Citroen colour (delage red) so used a Ford colour and it looks quite good.

Thanks guys,im very pleased with the result. It does need another compounding as you may be able to see in the pics, theres still some cloudyness to the paint in places but i cant believe it has come up so well .
I dont know what to do really,I may run it for myself but really need something with a towbar.I know i could fit one but with it only been a 14,dragging a car trailer laden with a dead Bx will know doubt kill it ?
I have the 19TGD to sort out next so that may be a better bet?

What was the Ford colour you used? My back bumper is in red primer, and some bumper restorer on the front one has improved matters, but after seeing your car I really want to improve the bumpers further. If close enough it may be a good solution to the scratches on the passenger side aswell.

I've not towed with my 14 yet, but that will almost certainly change in the next month as it will probably have to tow my 2CV from Yate to Shepton Mallet and back next month for the restoration show. I don't expect to kill it as it in theory has the towing capacity to do this, but I do expect it to be rather slow up the hills down there . What I don't expect is for it to be economic!

I've towed a variety of large loads with my Series 1 Land Rover, a Montego TD estate, a BX 19RD Estate and even an Ami 8 & my Dyane Nomad  . While I'm not saying that these were legal, or even sensible, they have all towed loads that were around their limit and have all coped, albiet slowly!

I was overtaken recently (admittedly I was in the van) coming off a roundabout by a Series 1 Landy, towing a loaded twin axle trailer! I don't think it was standard...

Morning Mike. The colour is available off the shelf in Halfords and its just called Ford Burgundy. Its a pretty good match and i have used it to also touch up some chips as well as doing the bumpers. Its not a bad match aspecially on the bumpers etc as they never look exactly the same as the body anyway.Hope this helps with yours,Richard.

Hi Richard, did you need a primer for the bumpers, or is it just a case of spraying straight on to the plastic? Oh, and how much paint did you need for the two bumpers?

I have to do mine.
