Glad to see it's still around, that's the tidiest mk1 I've ever had. You must have done more to it if it's mint, but it was pretty good anyway.

I remember you won it for a piffling amount too! I'd be annoyed, but I got it for even less (though did put a fair amount of work into it).
I'm restoring my Dad's GT, which is C520 DKK.

Here she is in all her glory getting a bath by a friend of the brother:

Forgive the quality of the pic, he takes photos on film and scans them!

The brush looks a lot worse than it is BTW!

The rear bumper faded badly after it was freshened up, it spends 99% of it's life indoors nowadays.

What he says, I dont know of any other Mk1 16RS's left on the road so that a real rarity now! The early cars are starting to get a real cult following now as there's hardly any left.

Not really, there used to be a BX register which dwindled away, there was talks about setting one up again but I just dont have the time.

Well, wonder if as a club we should consider one.

Just a thought. Perhaps starting with MK 1s and then the MK 2s as they are getting so rare these days. It seems that 100s drop off the DVLA records every year.

The problem is that people used to chop and change so often (myself included), you would get new members pop up, get the advice/parts they needed and never be seen again, and as the cars were not that pricey people would scrap them at the drop of a hat.

Now however as they are getting sought after it may be worth while thinking about at least a Mk1 Register, I think too many Mk2's are still being used as daily bangers for now although I doubt many people drive a BX anymore without knowing "what it is" so to speak.

I'm going to be driving that red BX as a daily as I'm sick of my S60 diesel daily. Sure it won't be as easy on fuel, and will need more looking after, but i think it will be much more fun!!

I can only drive the MR2 when it's dry because if I'm honest with myself it's now too quick for the road. So I need something that can be used regular.

Ide like to take on a MK 1 register Tim, however ime not very computer literate. No idea how to set something up on word or whatever to collate all the info. Never been taught how to use a PC, just picked it up as i go along so ime probably not the best candidate. Also, no spring chicken anymore, just a little fowl.
