Finally got the rear sylinders assambled.

Began slowly dissamble the spare rear axle i had becouse I needed some parts that where destroyed at dissamble. Rust and rust.

Image

Started assambly of the rear axle arm bearings, didn't came far... The new bearings and seal where to little. Apparently the fwd bx and 4x4 uses different rear bearings.
If someone know where to by a 4x4 rear arm bearing kit shout out. Need also a way to make new hydralic lines that goes from the spheres to the sylider.
Is it possible to buy some tool to make them? And buy new nipples and those small seals that inside?

Had to modify the plastic dust cover. That sit inside the arm. Didn't fit so made to fit, It had some cracks in the plastic so needed to seal it with tape.

Sits like a charm :)

I don't wish to rain on your parade but is the use of that adhesive tape a good idea? If the tube is cracked does that not run the risk of the oil and adhesive mixing and coagulating in the bearings? :?

Theres no oil in the arm just bearing grease. The tube is only there to protect the bearing from dust and dirt.

Surely its not meant to be wrapped in tape? Hope it works.

If nothing else found, Sitronen Oy (a Finnish company) probably has these, or know what you must ask from a dealer. As I recall they were a mix of XM and some other model bearings if originals are not found. The outer sealings can be a pain to find?

When i did one of the arms on mine 4 years ago i bought 2 spare sets for the future.
The bearing part numbers are 26 207 049 and the bearing make is timken, outer race lm12711, inner race lm12749 097 08.
seal part number is 5133.21.
the standard plastic tube fits if i can remember correctly with large 'o' rings to make it fit snugly in the arm.
I think some of the parts are shared with the xantia and c15.
good luck with locating them

Thanks for the heads up. Checked them they where to smal. Have found all the other bearings and such. only thing im missing is the seal. But is there a special name for the seal?
Sins theres somewhat of "two" seals on it? Sins the flange are sealing on the outside and inside.

Hello. Been a while since i've posted here.

Didn't get so far with the build due to personal things that needed to get sorted out first. And all other projects

Was on holiday with the car ca a year ago. All went well, to the point where we where travlig home.

Had just installed bigger and stronger clutch kit. So the clutch didn't slipp on acceleration.

Where travling home when we came to a light stop. And i decided to "launch" it on green.

Bom it said. And the diff exploded into de new clutch.
Got it towed home.

Savage a spare transmission. Mounted it and still car had problems with realising the clutch. Pressureplate was fucked preaty bad [emoji38]

And I just stoved the car away.
Until now when i have removed the diesel engine. One broken mount thats goes over the timing belt, just mm befor it snapped the belt [emoji38]

Have slowly began to assambly it again now with "new" gti engine.

Some little more power and improvments 8)

Here some pictures. Can take some more tomorrow.
