I think the petrol engines BX's waftiness suits the BX well, if your used to a diesel they can catch you out as the minute you press the gas pedal its off.....isnt it Paul!

A couple of pics of a recent visit to 'Chez Mulley' to polish up the new paint I put on to his repaired rear wing a couple of weeks ago and then repair the rather flaky wheel spat. I'm not sure Matt's TXD is ever going to be a concourse contender but it's certainly looking a lot tidier these days.

Image

I asked Matt if he wouldn't mind having a bash at removing the tow bar from the TGD. I'm not really a tow-bar fan and at 50 odd bhp I don't imagine the TGD is really. I was a bit worried about what we might find behind the rear bumper but as it transpired it wasn't too bad. The left hand side will definitely require a new piece welding in - I'll probably get it sorted when the boot floor is repaired (small hole starting to appear in there as well :( )

Image

The bolts on the tow-bar were not going to respond to a little light WD40ing - they'd been on there so long. Look's like a job for the angle grinder then - and it still didn't come off without a fight . . .

Image

. . . and the winner is - Matt and his angle grinder! :D In other news - finished Tim's alloy rims . . .

Image

. . . they look nice. 8)

Is the towbar for sale Paul? I'd like to have one on the TXD.

FINISHED (that's right FINISHED) the TGD alloys - I can't bliddy believe it (actually they still need lacquering . . .but what the hell) I don't think I'll be undertaking another refurb of a set of alloys quite as bolloxed as they were anytime soon. They do look nice though I have to say and I don't know of another UK car that has a set of those particular alloys so I'm sure the work will have been worth it - should look nice with the silver and black colour scheme of my TGD.

The rusty door shut also got sorted recently and the arch all cleaned and waxoyled - the boot is going to need a visit from Shaun and his magic welding stick in the not too distant future however - it's not bad, but needs attention before it is bad. All in all the TGD is looking mighty fine these days - infact, I may need to buy ANOTHER BX to use as an everyday car! [-X

I'm going as fast as I can! Infact I got up earlier this morning just so I could lacquer my wheels (sad but true! :D ) Here's me lacquering wheels, 'BXC foruming', not skiving off what I should be doing (much) AND giving up smoking - and who said men can't multi-task!?

Image

I just have to wait 48hrs now so that the 2k lacquer is hard enough to compound and polish - can't wait! - my life is BRILLIANT 8)

I'm very glad to hear you've foregone your lie in purely so we can see the fruits of your labour that little bit sooner. Have you got tyres for them?
I hate to tell you this but I think you may be wearing the mask wrongly...

Well done on giving up smoking though!

Well done on giving up smoking though!
1. I had other things to do before I could waste my time on fripperies like wheel lacquering.

2. The mask's in the 'down' position to allow for the ingress of tea. 8)

3. I could just swap the ones on the steelies, although I have a couple of other decent 165s - and so does Tim, who said he'd give me a hand getting all that stuff sorted.

4. It's been 2 weeks and 2 days. Not quite as hard as I imagined but there have been one or two close calls. (it's such a shame that smoking is bad for you - I really like it :( )

Hoorah! Another member of the BX Club ex-smokers Club! Though I'd already sold my first BX (back in 1999!) when I quit...

Looking very tasty indeed. Well done.

PS Glad to hear you're stopping smoking. Remember you aren't depriving yourself of something - you're giving yourself something... more money, longer life and nicer smell lol! Keep at it :)
