I suspect that he is propping up some metal & is cutting to size, shaun is certainly resourceful when it comes to making do when the equipment isn't available, i think he used a large log once to prop up my car as the axle stands had gone walkies, haha, it worked a treat.

I think (as Mulley correctly surmises) it was a bit of Northern resourcefulness. The tree doesn't look too happy about it though?

The TGD got 'Xrallied up' today after looking rather scummy the last couple of weeks. The boot all needed sorting out after the recent welding and it was . . . filthy. I was particularly pleased with the way the wheels have held up under months of snow, ice, salt, grit, shit and everything else a British winter can throw at them. I was rather worried that a whiff of real world usage and they'd just go tits up and I'd look like a rattle can fool - they haven't though; good as new.

Jobs to do include waxoyling and rustproofing the underneath and fluid changes/general maintenance etc. The door cards need changing over to some better ones I have and I need a new dashboard bulb (Tim; walk this way :D ). I also noticed that the rear arms don't look too clever, particularly the offside one, they're not 'cracking' yet, so maybe I'm imagining it. Other than that - good to go! 8)

Looking very nice Paul. Lovely car. =D>

As soon as ( or ever ) it warms up, we'll get the underside sorted plus the oil and filter change. :)

Though I say it myself Tom, the alloys really 'do it' don't they? :D

So do I! Having said that, it's probably good for 50 odd BHP and it has no power steering, so if you're in a hurry or lack a certain amount of upper body strength, it might not be the car for you. But, having said that, I'm happy to just sit and look at it; the fact that it'll get me from A to B marginally faster than walking is a nice bonus. :D

Thanks Kitch. It cost me 300 quid and was a few days from being weighed in when I bought it. It did need quite a bit of welding on the nearside inner-wing, but nothing that should have sent it to the scrappers IMHO. Apart from routine maintenance its been as good as gold and infact its so tidy now it's getting a bit too good to use everyday AND I can do more press-ups than I used to be able to (that'll be 5 then :D )!

The tailblazer finally arrived today from Belgium. Despite my pleas for bubble wrap it was covered in a rather cursory piece of brown paper. To be honest I was expecting that I'd become the proud owner of a tailblazer jigsaw puzzle. Thankfully not. There's a tiny hairline crack if you really look which could have happened in transit - or not - but I bet it did :( ! Anyway, now stashed away for when the Hurricane has had it's paintwork overhaul/new clutch n' stuff later this year. . .

You can barely see the crack unless you're looking for it. It's taken so long to arrive I'd just assumed that if and when it did arrive it'd be smashed to pieces. I'm just glad I'm not having to get the Araldite out!
