The TGS went off to have her head gasket, timing belt, octopus and water pump sorted this evening. Garage arrived with a trailer but she amazingly started and they drove her away which saved a lot of bother.
Have only got 3 BXs here now, not had that few here for many a year. However, ive heard of a TXD with 12 months ticket and 6 months tax available not far from me for 300 quid so may go for it when the owner gets back from holiday early September.

The white estate "SVS" i was once informed by Rob that its mechanically faultless and the owner keeps it that way its just the outside letting it down, also saw it this morning when dropping mine off at Chevronics and its got tax in the window till April 2015

I did have a good look round the lock up and your car/cars are coming along nicely Andy, very impressive work going on there

Ime glad to hear that the motor i mentioned is ok, Rob does have a turbo he is breaking though.
Whilst talking of motors, i seem to have bought another n/a BX Estate for 250 quid if it passes its mot. Ime told it will easily. If it all goes to plan, it will replace my forst n/a diesel Estate which i bought nearly 9 years ago, currently with Malcolm which needs extensive welding. Its rotted through under the rear subframe, and in many other places including the subframe mounts so will be scrapped. Sad though it is, the parts on it will keep many a BX alive and with my possible forthcoming move to Cornwall[hopefully] cant have too many more motors till i get there.
If all goes well, piccies in the next week or so.

Here is the new addition to the stable. A May 1992 Estate, 288k on the clock that runs and drives very well. Drove her back from West Sussex, about an hours run with no problems at all with a ride better than many a BX ive sat in. No use of any fluids which is a result.
Cosmetically challenged in places but this can be sorted. Not bad for 250 quid.

Those instruments look well specced for a TGD. Nice, straight motor which looks well travelled too from the stickers on the windscreen!

An afternoon with the masking tape, news paper and a couple of rattle cans would do wonders for the door tops, although the roof may need a little more work.

I actually prefer the looks of the estate, over the saloon. Well saved Andy.

Pity they did not do an estate specific rear door. The top roof line is to my eyes slightly spoiled by that ommission. Just too expensive to tool, I would surmise. Hence the tapering trim strip. This small detail is the main thing that IMHO prevents the estate being a 'great looker', nothing wrong with the rest of it....
