Bad luck Ian, if it happens that is, many of us have been through redundancies and although traumatic at the time it rarely ends up badly in the long term.
Hope its not Brexit related.

Tim, hope your concerns are not realised.

There's lots of talks about selling up/relocating, all of which are rumours and the arrogant management keep silent, I do sometimes wonder if one day I will come to work to find the doors bolted and the cars gone without notice!

I know what you mean. Management met the unions at 09:00 yesterday, and by 09:30 they were informing use 50% of the department is being made redundant. They’ve informed us it is to be all done and dusted by November. Anyway the exhaust arrived this morning at 06:50, I must be the first house on his run, so going to spend a pleasant evening -bashing managements head in. Sorry I mean fighting with stubborn exhaust clamps.

You don't want to use an exhaust for bashing heads in anyway, much too unweildy and very difficult to clean afterwards ;)

Hoping the redundancy turns out to be an opportunity for you, rather than a problem.

New exhaust centre box fitted, fluids checked and fuel topped up. Then a nice run to Dunoon for a long weekend. Rain on the way up, then sun for the rest of the week. Came home yesterday after 750 miles. I love this little car. Next job are the rear suspension bearings, and the oil pressure light comes on, at idle, after a run. Too wet to photograph the car on the ferry on the way there, and then the battery went flat on the camera, so kept forgetting it and leaving it in the room. Doh! Did manage to photograph a submarine though.
