I very much agree Mark, and Tim - WTF is a smashing looking car - it really shows of the lines in that colour combo.

It was Mark, the GCCG are a very varied bunch of guys and girls with a wide range of cars, we had a car full as my Uncle and Cousin joined us as they have before at other meets, plus my mate brough his Dad along, everyones welcome, its just a club for people who like cars in general but feel tradition clubs (I dont class the BXC in that manner) would not always be accomodating.

The 800 Vitesse is indeed a very underated car, Robin's example is a lovely late one, with about 45000 miles on the clock, finished in nightfire red and was about £1250 I think?. Quite a quick car but fairly firm seats and harsh ride, but lovely and torquey and a great cruiser.

I have decided I have too many BX's, the Estate wont be a keeper, the GT is as is the TZI, the DTR may get moved on sometime in the next few years but I have decided that if a suitable owner comes available then I would part with WTF.

Having more commitments house/partner wise means there is less in the kitty than previously and that means the cars are sat for months on end not being used.

If you want probably one of best BX's on the market, have a garage and will keep it in its fantastic condition its currently in then please get in touch, if you want a daily driver to use in all weathers and leave in tecos then buy a high miles tatty diesel.

Today I am mostly feeling WTF'lessness, so I feel a good dose of BX polishing and taxation on the cards next week to cure this! On the up side since I moved house back in December I have no cars on the drive except the veedub so the place looks tidier and I have lots of pieces of paper with the queens picture on!

I felt sad when I passed on the DS3 Tim, but looking back, I now know it was the best decision, as I'm sure you will also. I'm sure you will see WTF at future rallies and will be able to impart your polishing skills to the new owner. :) ^^bx>

Quick update on my blog, as you know WTF and the TRS estate have gone to new homes, Ive mostly been driving and polishing Rover's, amongst which fitting some nice 17" Vitesse alloys to the 820 to make it look a bit more sporting aswell as doing a small service (plugs, filters etc) and tidying up the Giffer Marks, surprisng how popular these cars are and how cheap parts are too. I purchased a set of front wings in the correct colour for £10 as one is a bit rusty and the other has had a "old boy home repair" so its easier to replace the two.

The new "pad" is coming along nicely with the lounge being nearly done, new blinds, fireplace, wallpaper light fittings and switches and of course my 8ft corner sofa which is awesome, theres just the painting of the main walls to be done in magnolia of course and thats it finished for now. The main bedroom and spare room are also decorated with new curtains/poles/light fittings etc ready for any guests come the NEC, however the awful 1980's Kitchen still sits there winking at me ready for knobs to drop off at a moments notice, so when time and money allows it will get changed for something more 21st Century, then theres just the hall stairs and landing to strip of its blown vinyl wallpaper and its many many layers of paint......

Today Paul296 and myself are off to Peterborough to look at all those BX's to see whats what and a report with pictures will folllow and then of course its the Northern Rally on Sunday, the "wife" has politely declined the invitation preferring to stay at "home" (he seems to spend more time in it than I do) so my cousin Carl will be arriving at Wetherby about 11am!

Pictures needed! I don't know whether it's just me, but I enjoy reading stuff not just about BXs/cars on these blogs. My life seems to be full of DIY too at the moment!

Will do Mat, its not up to your standards but its getting there slowly. The front garden is now nice and flat with gravel so has parking for two BX's side by side if required....the local felines decided that it was now a very attractive large litter tray and used it as such, some very pungent Cats Away spray from Wilkos did the trick and its a cat free zone so far.

Bloody cats, they seem to have come back with a vengance!

Progress on the 800 is slow...new front wings, rear spoiler and Vitesse springs (for £25 the lot in the correct colour) are yet to go on and if the weather holds I will try and do this Monday.....Work on my kitchen has started (and stopped) with some of the 20+ year blow vinyl wallpaper coming off sadly its taken some of the plaster with it so a bit of poylfilla is on the list! The crusty radiator with its 15 layers of peeling gloss is back from the blasters and looks like new with its shiny new white finish! A new one would have been cheaper if I could have found one the right size!

My wallpaper steamer is quite useful but either doesnt take the paper off or takes the plaster with it!

A garden sprinkler permanentlt attached to a tap ready to go is a great cat deterrent. They hate water and when they have been sprayed a few times tend to stay away from trapped areas.

Good idea, unfortunatly I am away for 11 hours a day and they seem to come at night leaving present for the next day! I may just have to buy another couple of BX's and park them on it instead!

Another week on and even more Cat sh*t! Do they have a midnight meeting? even if Michaels KA is parked on it the seem to do it round it, even more money spent on anyti-cat spray etc, last night I removed 6 "deposits" to be greated by a fresh one this morning.....Im an animal lover (bit not find of cats), ive supported the dogs trust for a while but if I do catch them at they will get a boot up their feline arses!

GT is taxed and ready to get prepared ready for Scotland next WEEK! the unbent rust free drivers wing is now painted and ready to go on on Monday (no rain please), the bonnet will be painted but I will leave that until after the trip to fit as I dont fancy sticking decals to a freshly painted bonnet which is bound to pick up stone chips on the 1000+ mile drive.
