Time for an update, sadly as you know the job of 14 years ended in September, which was tough!

I accepted a job at a Toyota dealer 18 miles from home, after being being recommended to me by a guy I knew which was a total disaster, after a month I left, which isn’t me...as I hate change. But what I expected and what the realisation was we’re poles apart.

Anyway...after a few applications and a one relaxed interview with an old friend I have started working at Citroen! Yep! I’m a DS brand expert which is all kinds of awesome! I have a fab desk in a seperate part of the showroom and a shiny new DS3 Crossback

Next week I’m off to Citroen UK for a week and then it’s Paris 👌

Tim that is good news from you especially as you are now Citroenman. I acquired a C3 auto a while back. I imagine they are easy to sell to the great British public.
The new C9 or is it DS9 looks interesting. I saw a write up about it in the french press recently.

Phew, glad you're sorted Tim. We spend most of our time at bloody work, so you've got to be happy where you're at.

Is that the TRD I drover at the ICCCCCR (what feels like) many years ago?

Glad you've gotten sorted with a new job mate. I think you will be an asset to a Citroen dealer as you can put a bit of historical enthusiasm for the marque in to the job. When I had to go to Marshall Citroen for parts they 100% gave zero-fucks about anything but a new car. Even the vaguely current C6 they were not remotely interested in, even working on it. They closed last year and good riddance to them I say.

Citroen have so much to be proud of in the past and I think this is something the people dealing with new cars should be at least slightly aware of.

Conversely, when I go to Marshall Volvo with my '87 480 or '01 C70 they at least pretend to be interested and helpful. That makes a difference and, if I could afford/want a new car, I'd be much happier giving money to someone who knows that Volvo/Citroen have a great past with styling, technological and engineering advances rather than someone that treats it like getting a new iPhone.

Well done on getting your old DTR back too. If I had space I love my old red Mk. 1 back, which is sitting with a collector still.
