It seems a popular past time on the forums I frequent, to knock Citroen's latest cars and concepts. The new C3, DS3 (and 'R' / Sport), C3 Picasso, for instance or the REVOLTe, the GT or the Airspace concepts. Theres a 'soft roader' in the offing: The 'Aircross' and so on.

But I want to buck the trend and say in general I like what's happening - they have such a strong style now; something that has been lacking. I saw a C4 3 door the other day and think it still looks great.

As for the C3 Picasso, rarely have I seen a new car, let alone a Citroen, get such rave reviews. And there's no doubting the visual impact of the car. I'd have one.

I for one would LOVE a DS3 (especially the sporty one!) and am looking forward to seeing what else the DS (OK I'm not sure about hijacking the DS heritage!) range will comprise...

Each to their own, I know; but compare Citroen's recent creative output with the likes of BMW or Audi!

I have to say the DS3 isn't really my bag, but that's all down to personal taste, and if Citroen are on the up then I am happy.

But, I'm not happy about the naming... If they wanted to re-use the DS name then it should be for something more fitting IMHO... something akin to the C6. After all, the DS was a large, hydropneumatically suspended car packed full of technology.

''Goddess" is not a name that should be handed out lightly, after all.

Had a cracking weekend, took the XM down to the south coast (air con works!) and have to say it's a smashing car.

Came back to the BX - looking a little sorry for itself under a layer of grime, so spent today fettling and cleaning her. There is some rust coming through in a number of places - nothing too serious at the moment - and the paintwork is a little patchy. But she still drives like a dream and corners better than any BX I've ever driven.

So two lovely Cits out front. Feeling good.

I agree with you Ray, think the DS3 is a bit of a rip off although I like the car in itself, if its ANTI RETRO why use a retro name, as DS should looke like one in my opinion.

Anyway back on track, glad you still loving the faithful GTi!.

Had a thought last night, watching Jamie Oliver in Marrakech...

How about a London to Marrakech rally?

The Marrakech Xpress - (would suggest BXpress but this would have to be open to all comers with a classic Citroen in my mind)...

3,000 kms there and just over that on the way back, via Barcelona.

The BXagon was 4,400 kms or so.

Now this would be MAD.

BX doing what we need it to do: wake up every morning and do what's asked of it without complaint. What a brilliant car.

XM rides on four brand new Michelins, has had gearbox treated to new Total BV fluide (instantly better!) and another oil change with Total's finest synthetic and nice Purflux filter. New air filter and 80 litres of 99 octane. This car 'owes me' now

Spotted yesterday in Tesco carpark, a nice TZD. Reminds me how good the BX looks in white:
