Rob H,s Bx 16valve blog

Post by rob-bx16v »

I have owned my 16v phase 2 for coming up to 8 years now. In that time ive spent loads of money and done many jobs on the car to make it 100% reliable. Its not quite standard featuring twin headlamps, aftermarket bonnet, etc.

At the moment im just in the process of having the rocker cover re-done and the inlet manifold and metal coolent pipes powdercoated. I have alreadt had the hydraulic cylinder done ( see pic ). Im also spraying the airflow meter up silver and the icv as well. I have blue spoox breather pipes on the way along with a couple of blue coolent pipes and an aluminium plug lead cover. Thats where im up to at the mo but there will be more pics as the work progresses.

I notice it's a K plate. That must make it one of the last?

It is indeed a k plate. But the orga number denotes the car was built in july 1991 so it must have either sat around for a year before being registered or was a demo car for a year??. Either way its the non cat 160 bhp version.

 It aint loud any more! 3 months ago i replaced the entire exhaust system for standard walker/bosal bits. it now has the original oe spec back box and is very quiet. but makes a nice roar on acceleration with the cone filter fitted.
