Hello!

Post by M »

Its very quiet in here! May I suggest all the FCF users who have a Xantia sell it and buy a BX instead!
Seriously though the BXC team will be more than willing to help any FCF users who have technical problems as best as we can.

John and Marty,

Thanks a million for doing this :D It is so good to be able to post again.

I'd really love a BX 16 GTi Marty and not to rob it of its Mi16 engine either, even though I also own a 205GTi  Had I not gone down the Activa road, in all probability I would have a BX 16 by now.

Jim, you think wisely..

Sell the Activa, get a 16 soupapes..
They are FTW!
Althought he activa is the only Xantia worth owning (I actually did once for about 30 seconds), but the BX valver is just something else altogether!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Do they roll a little then?

I find that if I drive our Xantia TD or the 205D, the roll is really unsettling after being used to the Activa and the 205GTi, where suspension travel is measured in millimetres.

The TD may roll alarmimly but never feels dangerous. Is the BX much the same?

It'd good to see fellow FCF regulars again - Hi guys!

The regulars on this forum seem to have the impression that the only car
EVER discussed on the FCF is the Xantia; 4 out of 4 posts here so far!
However, Xantia is seen as being boring, unreliable and isn't exactly their
most favorite of Citroens apparently.

May have something to do with the fact the Xantia replaced it and is seen
as far heavier/bloated and blander than the Bx!!

Seems to me, if you guys are going to discuss Xantiae problems in EVERY
post, it just goes to prove how much of a bad car they are!!
I thinks it's worth mentioning here that there is more to Citroening to soley
running a Bx, or even a Xantia for that matter and there are such things
as 2CV's, GSA's, CX's and Xm's as well!! I sit (rather comfortably as it
happens!! :)) onthe fence as I own examples of each model and get my
fix of each on a random rota basis!!! :D

All the best, to everyone, whatever their Citroen persuasion! :)

No.
They handle EXTREMLEY well, you just have to know how to load the suspension up BEFORE you get to the corner.
But even then, thats only if you're driving it RIGHT on the very edge of grip.
They are superb..

My hatred of Xantia's is well documented, but I do like all manner of Citroën's.. Nearly all of them infact. I just dont like the Xantia.
Thats not to say I dont make lots of money out of them, I do.
I just wouldn't want one myself.
But as I've said eleventy billion times before, if we all liked the same things, life would be very very dull..

In the same way you all don't like the xantia I don't like the Bx.
On been driven in one I felt like I was in a ford.
There is no weight to the metal and it feels so unsafe.
I thought the plastics, seats and switches were poor as well.

My xantia, obviously is great.
I'm not stuck on xantias though, I love xm's, I like the idea of a cx and a ds. I think the sm is wonderful as well but I've never seen one.
One thing I will give you archeologists with you're bx's though is they are nicer than the c5/6, just.

The more popular and common a car is the more likely a problem is going to be discussed!

Cant understand why fellow Citroen owners are dissing each other cars, they are come from the same stable, all have their pros and cons and you can discuss all day long why the BX is better than the Xantia and why the Xantia is better than the BX but what matters is you enjoying the car you have because you chose it and that is what you like!

I certainly love my Xantia to bits, i've driven a BX before but it was too quirky for me, but that doesnt mean i cannot apprieciate it and the reason why it has a devoted following.

I'm way too underpaid to be an archeologist!
I do drive old relics in work though!

Not even if you really tried?
Maybe some italic text, some flowery words from the dictionary and some tasteful pictoral artwork maybe....

Wouldn't say we're dissing the cars.
Just a little banter.
It's good that we all drive citroens, but obviously the cars have differences and we all have our preferences. Nothing wrong with sharing them.
