Alternatively head down to your local pet shop/garden centre and use a y piece for the goldfish tank filters.

Serious thats what I did.

Good man!

Now I'll know another thing to try if I ever encounter a split y-piece on the strut returns above the r/h rear subframe again.

It's not the same diam as the air-vent t-piece (5.5mm as opposed to 4mm) but I object to paying £12+ to Citroen for a bit of rubberised plastic.... that's what I seem to recall the t-piece cost. I used a home-plumbed alternative in metal but it was a bit fiddly to fit.
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

1" piece of washer hose, link the pipe that goes off to the rear of he car to the nipple on the tank filler with that. Pull the other length out of the inner wing and disregard it. Its a breather so that when the tank over flows it will over flow into the wing and really confuse things!

If you really want the breather, then heat up a nail in a pair of pliers and melt a hole in the top of the pipe holder (big plastic disc) about the same size as the hard breather pipe, and shove the breather line into it. DOnt drill it as you will get contaminents into the LHM.

In an ideal world, if all of the hydraulic system is in perfect as new condition then there is no need for the pipe that goes to the rear (and links to the security valve and N/S strut over flow).

The y-piece fails as a result of heat, and will likely just do the same again!

They appear to be still available so I have ordered two at £4.19 + VAT each. They should be here on wed. As the car is in daily use and I have put the last 80k on it befor the Y went hard and brittle I decided to go down the Citroen route. Although experience sayes whats listed as available dosent always turn up!! We shall see.... I will let you know what arrives. Thanks fo the interest and help.
