How's about still fitting them in the rear parcel shelf, but have them raised up so that the bottom of the large magnet is flush with the bottom of the shelf, no loss of boot space?

loss of vision out the back, and a bit of a faff to make something for them to stand in. Super low profile 6" round speakers might be the way to go though.

Phil, sounds like your as bad as me, knowing that there is space there but struggling to find something to put in it!

6x9's are Mickey Mouse! Subs powered by Amp is the way forward for good quality.

Mine's got the original (I think) components up front, so tweeter is dash and drive in door, however a mate of mine in SPL circles told me that the speakers must have cost a bomb for Citroen as they're Kevlar weave. I haven't looked at the other valver, but they look OE, with the plug connector etc.

I disconnected the rear ones in the c-pillars as the best thing you can do with them is use them as a butt plug. They're 10cm cones if you do want to change them, but its a waste of money.

Thats all I've got. All the sound comes from up front, like it's supposed to. Thats why your ears are shaped like they are  Boot is for bass, no noise! And possibly things.

All the one's in my cars have been cheapo paper, however, i did purchase some rather tasty oe citroen (forget the make) better quality speakers which i think have the kevlar weave in them. I wonder if they were a dealer specific option perhaps?

i have two shredded and well-blown c-pillar cones ready for a butt near you.

i think the way to go is definately a good head and crossover setup feeding a sub and the normal or some replacement speakers in the front doors and tweeters in the dash. The crossover feeds all the kick-arse bass energy to the sub so your door speakers don't have to deal with it, meaning they don't have to be super-tough bass pounding cones, just anything decent and normal. Or am i stating the obvious? Theres not enough space in the door anyway and the cavity is not rigid or sealed enough to give good response from any punchier speakers there. So sub on. And road noise in = music out. Everyone will be able to hear you :D

i've not ventured into sub-land myself . yet

Just about the only unused cabin space I can think of for some kind of subwoofer is under the front seats, though space is hardly generous.

The effects though might be somewhat akin to the C5/C6's lane departure warning though.... butt-plugs might prove necessary.
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

Justin, thanks for the offer. Like you though, i'm frightened it'll rip the tent :D

I nearly ALWAYS have stuff in the boot and rarely have the shelf fitted so speakers there aint much use....

I reckon i'll just put up with it....
