You ever thought of contacting a Texaco Sales Rep? Thats what I did with the help of an internet search to get some numbers etc.

Ended up getting pointed to a guy they sold Drums of LHM to and brought it loose so to speak.

I would have thought any Citroen specialist (probably not dealers) would buy in a bulk drum of the stuff?

If their version of lhm appeals, Carlube (part of the Tetrosyl group) seem to supply their version of lhm+ in a slightly bizarre 4.5l size as well as the 1l size.

I don't think the price is particularly economical though, and you'll probably have to persuade the shops to order it in.

LHM container sizes

4.5l is odd? no way, it's a real measure; the good old fashioned gallon,

I got a gallon, yep a 4.54 litres container from my local parts place for about £12 not so long ago, made by Silver Hook lubricants.

One thing you may wish to consider is that the LHM+ supplied by some more budget brands (eg. not Total, Bendix, Castrol etc.) seems thinner in consistancy than the real stuff. In the Xantia I found this led to a buzzing effect through the brake pedal when hot, however I could not comment on whether it may cause a similar issue with the BX. In fact, it may even be helpful, given as many BX's have power steering issues when the car is cold, the LHM being a tad thinner may to a degree mask this...

OK - not so strange for a UK company. Just perhaps a tad eccentric for a product designed to be used on cars where all capacities are expressed in litres - unless Rolls-Royce somehow contrived to make a full fill of lhm for its licensed use of Citroen technology an imperial measure. I'm old enough to remember more widespread use of imperial measures.

It's also less brightly coloured, which as anyone knows is a vital technical characteristic of genuine LHM...

Wasn't the initial agreement that we should keep the mile and the pint? But we seem to have lost the pint somewhere along the way...

I seem to recall reading that David R drank a pint of a concoction in the pub that looked like LHM.

Try a Green Demon...Midori (melon liquor), vodka and lemonade. That looks pretty similar. I may even bring the ingredients along to the National!
