It's quiet at work and I've been thinking too much.
will all the gear linkage pivot points on the bx14 crossmember correspond to the bx16 with xu engine or do i need to do some welding?

to recap on this - relay arm that bolts to rack and pinion is different - easy swap
lower engine mount needs shifting 2" to the right (or make a new lower mount that bridges the gap)

here she is as of last night, complete with later model tail lamps.

I've got the 309gti engine in the breaches, and a set of yamaha R1 carbs. whether they ever find their way onto the car I'm not sure. would be fun though as the 1.6 engine is seriously underpowered... that said, I'm sure it'd cost little more to run per week than my vespa in it's current guise.
hmmm.

kiwi - I'm probably coming up to (at least) mangaweka in a couple of weeks. and then maybe raetihi a couple of weeks later. would be good to maybe meet you to talk some crap about all things bx?

if the 1.4 you bought is the early type the sub frame is diferent, as the early 1.4's engine sits on the sub frame were all other BX's the engine hangs on the inner wings,

the donor was the late (1991) type. swung from upper mounts like XU engined cars do.
