Just checked Ian - its 16 x 1.5.
Thats a good idea btw putting the sensor in the drain plug position. A standard BX one will fit.

205 GTis had an oil temperature gauge with an identical looking sender - and there may well be specialist breakers for them that would sell you one...

Later BXs from 6141 - 01/09/93 show a 14mm sump plug and temp sender p/n 02428101. Perhaps this was what should have been ordered if yours is a late model.

It was registered in August 92 so presumably it'll be the 16mm plug. I bought a sender from Citroen but its got a 14mm thread. Do you know the part number of the 16mm one by any chance??

16mm plug is 0242 50
14mm is 0242 81

Please let me know if the 16mm is still available as I will order one as well.

i have just checked that part No. 242.50 for the 16mm sendor on service citroens site, and it comes up with a price of 20.59,

my local citroen parts manager has said in the past if it comes up with a price it is usualy still avalible,

it also list's it for a ZX

After all this time i've just ordered this. Apparently it'll be here for saturday morning however the dealer has made these statements in the past.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Malcolm is absolutely correct though, 20.59ukp
