Alternator drive belt

Post by bxnewby »

Hello I am having a problem refitting the alternator drive belt on my BX.
The adjuster does not want to move. I have loosened the allen key that seems to lock the adjuster and I can not see anything else holding it. It is just sitting there daring me to hit it.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks

there are three bolts, two locking the adjuster one on the bracket the other in the centre of the pulley, and the third one underneath which is the adjuster bolt which sometimes has a plastic cap over it, this one can be seized and need a bit of heat and duckoil/pluss gas

It was the one in the in the centre of the pulley I missed.
