Water pump feed pipe, advice please!

Post by scotty »

Hi,
My 19txd has recently started with a water leak, just what you need with the onset of winter.
On inspection it appers that the leak is coming from a unit made of plastic which bolts to the engine with the aid of a gasket, this unit has pipe connections from the matrix and from the rad, still trying to track one down at mo, as with any coolant parts i feel that you really need to buy new to prevent any further problems.
Rang local Cit dealer, they reckon they can get one for £45 + VAT, is it an easy task albeit fiddly anybody please?

Water pump feed pipe, advice please!

Hi All,
To anybody who has read this query, i have managed to order a new unit through Citroen in Leeds, it is called a water intake, priced at £13.73 for unit and seal inclusive of vat, a small price to pay compared to an engine damage bill!

Done the job, my hands look like they have been mauled by a cat, not much room behind engine.
With me replacing this part i have caused a hydraulic return pipe leak to get worse now, something else to work my hands round!!

Did manage to do the water intake without taking driveshaft out, just removed the splash guard that holds the bottom hose clear of the bottom pulley.
