Riding high and firm?

Post by Dollywobbler »

Just realised that the subject could be open to interpretation but I'll push on regardless with delightful innuendo.

On the BXagon, towards the end, The Green Tiger (Francine to her friends) got noticably high at the front and felt quite firm. It seems to have gone softer now, though the ride is noticably crashy. Do you think the ol' girl needs a pair of front spheres? She probably deserves them having refused to go horribly wrong on the BXagon, even with a split coolant hose! (and yes, I'll get her booked in for rear arm bearings too!)

For £42 its worth doing if they need changing, as the suspension gets nearer the top of its travel it wil get harder so it may have been a sticking height corrector and/or linkage?

Try ALKO spheres at AEP or if you are happy your spheres can be refurbed, go to Pleiades on an exchange basis as they are recharged on despatch!

Plaedies are just down the road anyway. Maybe I need to drop in and see them.

Eh?

The spheres have no bearing on ride height.
That is controlled by the height corrector. If the rides gone high, or indeed as tends to be the case a tad variable, then have a look at Aerodynamica's excellent post about rebuilding the HC's, and more importantly, sorting the control rod bushing. That thread is worth it's weight in stuff more expensive than gold.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...
