Hi
I have a 1989 BX 1.6RE with a worm out carburetor. The main issue seeems to be that the engine runs fast. My mechanic tells me that the bearings are worn and it is not repairable.
Can anyone advise if it may be repairable, if you can get serviceable replacements, or if it is possible to fit other carburetor or fuel injection, or something?
I believe it is a single downthrow, single(manual) choke.
thanks
Chris
BX 1.6 carburetor
a 1.6 will be a twin choke carb and the first thing i would check is that the auto choke is not playing up, more offten than not through being fiddled with,
or if someone has had the top off they may well have not placed the linkages back in the right place/s, and this will hold the throtle up a bit.
were abouts are you based
