Alright, it's not that technical, but where else would I post a question about an internal rear vision mirror falling off the windscreen?
It just fell off and all that I can see is the metal piece that the plastic holder slides into and that metal piece seems to have a very shiny dark coloured surface where it sticks to the windscreen, but the question is, how? On the windscreen itself there is no residue left and none on the shiny surface of the metal fitting, so how does this thing stick?
Anybody know? How do I put it back?
Any advice gratefully received

Dont bother with superglue, it lasts for a couple of days & then the uv kills the glue & it drops off. And no, i didnt use it, the car came like it Got the kit to re-affix, but its the last of the jobs needed on that heap

How about just go into the local windscreen repairer and ask them to refit it. Better still send the missus in it works out cheaper sometimes

The fix
After Philip's advice I went to the local Repco outlet and they sold me a Rear View Mirror Adhesive made by Loctite. No mesh, as Philip advised you have there, just a Part A & Part B Part A being a primer which is applied to the glass and Part B being the glue & five small drops on the bracket, then apply and hold firmly for 90 seconds. Easy, as long as you get it straight!
