yep, front wishbone bush.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Thanks Chris. It's because I've never had to do any repairs there yet that I wouldn't know that - the time is coming though.. are these standard throughout the BX range? And what would be the approximate cost new?

Standard on all Mk2's, not sure if they are the same on Mk1's though since they had the roller bearings aswell....
Although they probably are the same???

Not too bad a job on a mk2, but if you need to do the bearings on a mk1.... well, thats a tad more involved..

EDIT: cost is about £25GBP IIRC.

yes all BX's used these bush's even the ones with tapper bearings in the front sub frame, as the arm still had bush's to stop road noise transmitting back up through the car body,

each arm has two bush's one like your picy and the other is called a mushroom bush as it has a flandge around one end,

GSF list both

N42225 in there 06 catalouge they were 7.20 pounds

N42226 " " " " " " 4.50 "

thankyou for replies. There's a bloke on Ebay here who sells off a lot of BX parts and some he can't identify. I actually forgot to bid on them anyway! But at least I know what they are now!

you'll have fun getting the old ones out.

I can still smell the sweet filth of burning rubber from when me and Citroen7 took to my old ones with a blowtorch and some used oil.

A press and/or some careful hacksawing might be better...
