BX TZD Clutch Job

Post by djm666 »

drove 2000km in 2 days, had a wonderfull trip. then pulled up at home and it started making a dredfull noise when pulling away. but it still went so drove it for a week then pulled the gearbox out. found clutch plate broken up. new clutch kit, flywheel skim and away it goes once more.lol.
i probebly should have given up on this car ages ago. but it just keeps going. and i like driving it. went from a 2001 BMW 530 to this and would not go back ever. sick i think is the word.lol.
oh yes and found the gearbox mount broke as i unscrewed it. so i made up one of my own with a new bolt and a bit of plate. will have to find a gearbox case before the next clutch job.lol. and recase the old one. but the mount is working well.lol.

Good work there.

Nice to see some 'no panic' reaction to a casted mounting getting typhooned. Trust your modification will hold out.

panic would be the first step to failure.
best to step back and review the situation.
then proceed in getting back on the road.
